After the clocks change in November, it gets dark very early in Toronto. By 4 pm we need to turn on the lights. But the darkness also gives us glimpses into the lives of our neighbours, those other condo dwellers facing our courtyard and our street. I've decided to do a series of paintings of these window views. Some are almost abstract; others evoke coziness, and still others suggest a clean, crisp and minimalist life.
