This is a painting of some (other) tourists sitting on a bench in front of the Church of Agios Nikolaos near the port in Mykonos, Greece. We passed by here in 2023 as part of a day cruise to visit the archaeology on nearby Delos.

Being a tourist is hard work! And many of the most enthusiastic tourists are people trying to fit a lot of overdue adventuring into their later years.

The questions we ask ourselves as tourists are the existential questions of life. What the heck am I doing here? Would I be happier in some other place? How can I make the most of my limited time? Is this all just a big scam? Why do my knees hurt?
