Sugar Beach, Toronto, Canada
This is a painting of Sugar Beach as seen from Queens Quay in Toronto. This "urban beach" with permanent pink umbrellas has become a destination on the revitalized eastern waterfront since it was built about a decade ago. You can't actually swim there, as it's a steep drop to the water and near shipping lanes, but the sand, umbrellas, deck chairs and shady willows make for a nice place to relax during the hot summer months.
