This is a painting of the view from the garden of Casa Museo de Max Moreau, a traditional walled carmen house in the Albaicín district of Granada, Spain.

Belgian painter Max Moreau lived in this house for 30 years. After his death in 1992 the property was given to the city of Granada, and eventually converted into a museum.

The quiet house was a pleasant oasis to visit, with beautiful views of the Alhambra and the snow-tipped Sierra Nevada mountains visible in the distance. I was jealous of Moreau's sunny studio, still equipped with his easel and long-hardened paints on his palette.
