Carrer Major, Sagunto, Spain
This is a painting of a view along Carrer Major ("High Street" in Catalan) in the town of Sagunto, Spain. We explored this beautiful small town in January of 2019 when we took a day trip by train from Valencia.
The main attraction for tourists in Sagunto is the impressive ruined castle on the hill above, but the town itself has a lot of charm, dating to Roman times (when it was known as Saguntum) with twisty cobbled streets and a nice town square where the annual Sant Antoni festa was in full swing.
