Paintings of some places we've visited outside Greece and Spain.
Bookshop Window, Edinburgh, Scotland
December 2020 · Oil on board · 8" x 10"
This is a painting of a picturesque window in the basement of Edinburgh Books in the West Port/Grassmarket area of Edinburgh, Scotland. The window is set deep into the stone foundations and the sill has been made into a sort of desk or work area, decorated with a vase of dried flowers.
This bookshop was one of several we visited in June of 2018, and it was fun to poke around the different rooms filled with stacks of books. We even purchased a few. These sort of character-filled bookshops are very hard to find in Toronto these days.
Please support places like Edinburgh Books, Armchair Books, Elvis Shakespeare, McNaughtan's, and Typewronger so they are still there when we can travel again.
