Alcázar Courtyard, Seville, Spain
This is a painting of the the Patio de las Doncellas (Courtyard of the Maidens) inside the Royal Alcázar palaces in Seville, Spain. This palace, built during the 14th Century, is particularly interesting because it was constructed by the Catholic king Pedro (Peter) of Castile, but relied on Muslim craftsmen to build it in the intricate Mudéjar architectural style familiar to visitors to the Alhambra in Granada.
We explored these beautiful palaces and courtyards in 2017.
