Carril de la Lona, Granada, Spain
October 2019 · Oil on board · 9" x 12"
This is a painting of Carril de la Lona, a street in the historic Albaicín area of Granada, Spain. This steep and hilly district is popular with tourists but many people also live comfortably in quiet homes tucked away behind the non-descript outer walls. We visited Granada in December of 2017.
On the right of the painting is a supporting wall for the Puerta Monaita, one of seven Moorish gateways to the city originally constructed in the 11th century.
